If hiking takes your fancy, the Larapinta Trail is without doubt one of Australia’s most spectacular and exciting long distance overnight treks. The Trail runs over 223 kilometres along the backbone of the West MacDonnell Ranges from Alice Springs West to Mt Sonder and is divided into 12 sections.

Desert Palms is also at the gateway to surrounding regions of the MacDonnell Ranges, Palm Valley, Kings Canyon and Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.

Other attractions include the Alice Springs Desert Park, the Telegraph Station, the Royal Flying Doctor Service, the School of the Air, and the Reptile Centre or take a Hot Air Balloon.
